Mark Denzer, M.S.

Program Administrator

Mark Denzer grew up in central Illinois on the banks of the Kaskaskias River where he learned to fish, hunt, and observe nature. He has a wide scope of experiences in working with young people over the last sixteen years, including SUWS wilderness programs of Idaho, Soltreks Wilderness Programs of Minnesota, Brehm Preparatory School, and Touch of Nature Environmental Center. In addition, Mark created his own wilderness education program, The Trails of Awareness Project where he mentored and lead trips for young people and adults. He has a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He firmly believes in the philosophy of Eagle Summit and is invested in the growth of its future as the new Director.
 
Mark is Certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, and CPR. He brings to the program extensive experience in many diverse aspects of outdoor therapeutic recreation including outdoor behavioral health, naturalists studies, survival and primitive skills, canoeing, hiking, backpacking, search and rescue techniques, bush craft and special populations.

Betty Crenshaw, M.Ed.

Director of Education

Betty Crenshaw is exceptionally qualified to help any of our students who may have had significant difficulties in typical school settings.

From the day she completed studies for the B.A. in Psychology, Betty has been counseling adolescent children; first at Albemarle County and Staunton City school in Virginia.

Earning the Master of Education degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Virginia led Betty to investing 34 years in guiding children in making important academic and social choices. At J.T. Henley Middle School, Betty supported more than 600 students and their teachers in their preparation for a successful high school endeavor. At Henrico County schools, she oversaw counseling for its comprehansive high achool and special education center. There, her responsibilities included academic, vocational and personal counseling for grades 9-12, as well as sponsorship of the Peer Helper Progam and the Student Assistance Program. At Franklin City Public Schools, Betty advised students and parents on course selection, the college application process, financial aid, and scholarships.

Under Betty’s leadership, the Eagle Summit curricula is built of hands-on, experiential activities that combine traditional classroom activities to help students achieve the academic skills they will need to succeed.

 

Angie Fusco, M.Ed.

Marketing Director

Angie is a native of St. Louis. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with a BS degree in Education and obtained her Master’s in Education from Middle Tennessee State University.

Angie began her work in the residential treatment industry as a Recreation Therapist with the Hospital Corporation of America in Chattanooga. She then became a Counselor with Three Springs at the Paint Rock Valley Program in 1992. Angie served many roles in her 13 years with Three Springs and led programs in three different locations. Her many roles with Three Springs included Counselor, Counselor Supervisor, Assistant Administrator, Special Projects Manager, Program Administrator, and Director of Organizational Development.

Angie has one child. Her passions include spending time with her daughter and working with young people, from working with the kids that we serve to coaching youth soccer. She is also a big “sports fanatic” and avid outdoors person, enjoying such activities as hiking, canoeing, gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Angie is excited to be a part of the team at Eagle Summit where she can help adolescent males and their families.

Anita Kiessling-Caver, MSW, LCSW, QSAP QMHP

Clinical Consultant, Regional Vice President

Ms. Kiessling-Caver brings seventeen years of experience in mental health treatment services to Eagle Summit. She holds a Master’s of Social Work degree, completing a specialized program with an emphasis on children and families in 1993. She is extensively trained in the Gorski model of Brief Strategic Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, PTSD treatment in adults and children, as well as treatment of domestic violence offenders. Prior to coming to Eagle Summit, Ms. Kiessling-Caver served as Counseling and Addictions Treatment Coordinator for University Behavioral Health, University of Missouri Healthcare. Anita is licensed in the state of Missouri as a Clinical Social Worker. Her training in the use of Dialectical Behavioral Training (DBT) and her extensive knowledge of and experience in this field offers an invaluable asset to the Eagle Summit campus. Anita and her husband, Jerome, have two children: a daughter in college and a son who is a senior in high school. In her spare time, Anita enjoys attending her son’s sporting events, gardening, antiquing, shopping, and spa days with her daughter. Anita is excited to be involved in program development for Eagle Summit and looks forward to working with the young men and their families at the program.

Robert Giegling, MA, LPC

Executive Vice President of Programs

Robert Giegling was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He received a BA in Psychology (1985) from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA, and a MA in Counseling & Guidance (1989) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Robert began his professional career as a case manager at a small agency in Kansas City, KS, working with newly released juvenile delinquents. From there, he moved to St. Louis and accepted a position as a case manager working for the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), working with Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) youth.
