WHERE YOUNG MEN'S FUTURES TAKE FLIGHT

Eagle Summit contracts with Park City Independent School, which is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS). Our school provides academic curricula for grades 6 - 12. Regular education, special education, and Title One services are provided by the online academic program and the Director of Education. The course content is correlated to the state curriculum requirements, and basic courses needed for high school graduation are offered, along with Honors courses and AP classes. Our contract also has a credit recovery program. Credits earned at Eagle Summit transfer to a student's next school anywhere in the country when he leaves. At the end of each school year, students participate in an academic awards ceremony and high school graduation ceremony. Students who qualify may also prepare for and take the General Education Diploma test while at our school. It is a goal of the school to provide scholastic and social learning opportunities where the students experience success.

Education at Eagle Summit is an essential part of the holistic treatment process. The Director of Education is a significant member of the treatment team and participates fully in the development of each student's Master Treatment Plan, which includes goals for their academic program. After a careful review of your son's educational records and completion of individual testing, behavioral and academic objectives for his Master Treatment Plan and an Individualized Educational Program will be developed to meet his individual needs. Your son will be placed in classes he was taking prior to coming to Eagle Summit, when possible. Foreign languages are also provided in our curriculum and currently include Spanish, French, and German.

While at Eagle Summit your son will participate in End-of-Course exams, Gateway exams, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), achievement tests, and the American College Test (ACT), when applicable.

Since most of our students have experienced significant difficulties in typical school settings and most have a negative perception of school, we make every effort to engage students in the educational process by making instruction as interesting and as meaningful as possible. Hands-on, experiential activities are combined with more traditional classroom activities. For example, math students may use trigonometric functions to estimate the height of a tree, and science students may learn the concept of rocket propulsion by designing and building their own rockets. Our classroom has computers and audio/visual equipment that are used to further enhance instruction.
